Game Review

Rainbow Six Siege isn't the average game

Ever seen the Tom Cruise movie Edge Of Tomorrow? No... This is a movie where the world is attacked by aliens where no military unit in the world is able to beat them. William Cage (Tom Cruise), an officer who has never seen combat, is assigned to a suicide mission. Killed within moments, Cage finds himself thrown into a time loop, in which he relives the same brutal fight -- and his death -- over and over again. However, Cage's fighting skills improve with each encore bringing him closer to defeating his enemies. Now.. Go watch that movie and then go play Rainbow Six Siege.. Same thing! Just no Tom Cruise. Unless his supposed to be Operator Pulse with no hair, Hmmm

Rainbow Six Siege is one of the best games out. It's a game that people are going to hate in the beginning (and I mean really hate) because of how many time you are going to die. Make no mistake, new players will die every time a new round is started. You will die in this game, New or Old. That's the Frustrating part. The fun part of the game is for every death there's a death scene that  show you how you died and what to watch out for, and that how you learn how to play siege. You can't be successful without failure, You can't pregnant without vodka, you can't be great at siege without dying....... a lot.

Rainbow Six Siege is a 5 on 5 team player death match where you and 4 other teammates will pick 5 out of the 19 Specialized Attacker, while on the other side not seen, 5 other people are picking 5 out of the 19 Specialized Defenders to either Protect The Bomb, The Hostage, Or trying to make sure the Attackers don't secure the area (capture the flag type). After picking your Operator you and your team will be placed in one of the 15 maps the game will randomly pick for you and that's when the game... Somewhat starts...??? This is the part where people start getting frustrated and confused...

The beginning of the match is one of the most important parts of the game. As an attacker, you will have 36 seconds to user mobile drones to go into the location and find not just the hostage or bomb or the secured area, but also the Specialized ops, what the traps that were set, and what would be a great advantage point for you to break into. As a Specialized Defender you will have 36 seconds to set up traps around the area that needs protect, reinforce walls so no one can just break through with ease, set up camera and shit... Just a whole heep of shit that needs to be done and a defender. This is a vital prep stage. If you don't find the Objective, or don't secure the objective right, you will die.

Once the prep phase is over you'll have 3 minutes to either kill all on the opposing side or complete the objective task.  Example, Hostage, attackers have to run in and grab the hostage from out of the room and take Princess Peach (It's not princess peach but it's the same damn women that gets taken every damn time) to a safe area outside. While you are trying to save this broad you have the 5 other people trying to make sure you don't get to her so they came equipped with LMG's, Shields, and a Lord (look it up). You are also carrying the same type of equipment and have to get in to save her. You either save the cheerleader or kill everyone that's protecting her. What's that?, You killed everyone??? Great! Round 2,  now you're the defender that protecting the hostage that you decided to take in the middle of the night for no damn reason. First one to 3 wins.

Rainbow Six Siege may sound like your average shooter game but what make it so different and fun is that it's not. What makes the game so different is that every 38 operator has a Specialized ability that can either heal a down player, Jam a signal so that drones can't get in to certain areas, electrify walls so they can't be destroyed, EMP grenades that destroys all electronic equipment, to a sneaky broad named Caveira from Brazil with a fat ass that will sneak up on you, punch you in the back of the head, crouch over top of you and will whisper in your ear " where are they" before putting a knife in your throat. Being able to shoot through, and destroy walls are also the best part of the game. Think you hear someone walking on the other side of the wall and their not your team mate? Shoot through the wall. You missed your shot and know someone is still there? Blow that shit up! The destruction engine is one of the best thing about it. If it's not reinforced it's open game. No one is safe and anyone can be killed.

What makes the game really challenging is that there is no friendly fire. That's right! If you want to shoot past your team mate and accidentally hit him he is dead or what they call, TK'ed (Team Killed) . There's no way for you to turn it on. With that being said the game teaches you that you have to be precise with your shots or you will being become a mass murder for your team and getting cussed out by some 12 year kid in some type of different langue and them telling you what your mother can do.

Rainbow Six Siege is a learning game. You will die constantly and you will learn from it. Every death is a lesson, every lesson is a new strategy, and for every strategy you learn can lead you to a win. I have introduced 4 of my friends to this game and they bitched like I did in the beginning about how much of a struggle this game is, and it is in the beginning. But once you get the hang of it, it become an addictive game.

I think there a free weekend coming up soon. Try the game out and you tell me what you think.
