Sunday is Father’s Day. The day where we give thank all of the dedicated Father’s. The day where we thank them for deciding to not go out for that pack of cigarettes and never come back. The day where we celebrate Mother’s day again. Why? Now I’m not talking about the single mothers that are on their own and have to play both Father and Mother, Ya’ll the real MVP of the Game. I’m talking about the Mothers with the Fathers in their lives talking about “This is a day for us”. How sway how? Can’t we have just one day to ourselves? Or is that a misogynistic, selfish way of thinking?
Anyway, Father’s Day was proposed in 1909 in Washington DC by Dodd Sonora for all of the miners that died in a mining accident in Monongah, West Virginia in 1907. We now celebrate it in honoring the fatherhood and Parental bond for all of the men that play a big part in their children lives. This even goes out for the men that are playing the part for children that don’t have a father and they decided to step up to the plate.
So from me to all of the people out here taking care of their own. Happy Father’s Day and thank you for playing your part.
